NGS were retained to conduct assessments on CD Copy Control Software and DVD Copy Control Software provided to Media Science International by Fortium Technologies Ltd for use in copy protection mechanisms used by the major Record Labels. NGS concluded that this copy control software does not insert software onto PC operating systems, cause unexpected or undesirable actions or take any malicious action on a system to which these copy controlled CDs or DVD are introduced or used. Programs tested include MSI V1 Red audio CD copy control and MSI DVDR copy control.
